Pussy Galore's Flying Circus

Solo for an aerialist and two silks

Using death-defying circus imagery, theatrical narrative, humour and pathos, this solo show about a young woman and her gay brother explores issues of sexual and cultural identity, sibling rivalry and the nature of being different in the eyes of society. High above the ground, dangling on white silks, she remembers back to their childhood. How do families shape you? Why is there a basic human urge to 'fit in'?

Her brother gave her the imagination and taught her how to fly - to be part of Pussy Galore's Flying Circus. This is what she clings to when words fail to express some of the deepest of human emotions - bereavement and loss.

"Pussy Galore's Flying Circus" was premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1999 and has since toured extensively through Britain.
